About Me
It's Not About Me
It’s not easy being me
I’m not a psychologist, social worker, grief counselor, or life coach. At the end of my name, I do not have the initials Ph.D., Psy/D, MA, MS, MC, LCSW.
However, I have 56 years of experience with grieving.
The only initials I have behind my name are OLD and COG.
God has been connecting the pieces of my life's puzzle. I heard it as clearly as if God himself pulled up a chair and looked me straight in the eye, and said,
I don’t know how it happened. I don’t know when it happened, but it dawned on me that I am a professional griever. It is not a paid profession but a long-term way of life.
It is definitely not the path I would have taken on my own. It is not a journey I would have chosen to stretch from an 11-days journey to 56 years.
After 40 years of journaling about grieving, I believe I am to bring the darkness to light.
"Leave God Out of It"
I was reading a blog on grief and its comments. A person was writing about her faith during her difficult time. The comment that followed was “Leave God Out of It.” I get it. Faith and Anger with God are part of the grieving process. I’ve been there. However, I will not leave God out of it because God got me through it.
Quote from the Shack
“I can work together incredible good in the tragedies, but I don’t orchestrate the tragedies.”
